Jalapa, Ver., 29 de julio (apro).- Tras la reciente denuncia interpuesta por el director del Movimiento de Apoyo a Niños Trabajadores de la Calle (Matraca), Octavio Hernández Lara, en la Fiscalía Especializada contra Delitos de los Servidores Públicos, las agresiones de elementos policiacos se recrudecieron, y las amenazas se extendieron hacia los mismos educadores de esta organización no gubernamental.

Jalapa, Veracruz, July 29. - After the recent denunciation made by the director of the Movement of Support to Working Street Children (MATRACA), Octavio Hernández Lara, in the Office of the Public Special Prosecutor against Crimes of Public Servants, the aggressions of members of the police broke out again, and the threats extended even towards educators of this nongovernmental organization.

Y es que una vez que la fiscalía, dependiente de la Procuraduría local, abrió el expediente de la averiguación previa SEFP/551/04/2, los policías denunciados por los menores, hoy arbitrariamente detuvieron a cinco de ellos y los recluyeron en el cuartel de San José de esta ciudad,

And it is after the office of the public prosecutor, connected with the local office of the judge advocate general, initiated the investigation in the previous inquiry SEFP/551/04/2 (the police denounced by the minors), today they arbitrarily stopped five of them and locked them up in the quarter of San José of this city,

Ante este tipo de agresiones -en que un comandante de apellido Nava mantenía bajo amenaza a los adolescentes trabajadores de la calle, a quienes incluso golpeó con una varilla metálica--, los menores, apoyados por Matraca, acudieron a la fiscalía para denunciar los hechos, y al mismo tiempo presentaron una queja ante la Comisión Estatal de Derechos Humanos (CEDH).

Before this kind of aggression -- in which a commander with the last name Nava kept the working adolescents of the street under threat, some of whom he even struck with a metallic rod --, the minors, supported by MATRACA, went to the office of the public prosecutor to denounce the facts, and at the same time they made a complaint before the State Commission of Human Rights (CEDH).

Sin embargo, hoy el director de Matraca denunció nuevas agresiones cometidas contra menores en situación de calle por parte de elementos de la Policía Intermunicipal Jalapa-Banderilla, pues cuando éstos se dirigían a comer al albergue de Caritas, atendido por religiosas, "un grupo de policías detuvo a cinco de ellos arbitrariamente, los subió a una patrulla y los encerró en el cuartel de San José".

Nevertheless, today the director of MATRACA denounced new aggressions committed against minors on the street by elements of the Jalapa-Banderilla Intercity Police, because when the kids went to eat at the shelter of Caritas, taken care of by nuns, "a group of police arbitrarily stopped five of them, called a patrol and locked them up in the quarter of San Jose".

El mismo jefe policiaco denunciado, de apellido Nava, señaló un menor, "nos dijo que nos iba a llevar a todos por chismosos, por chivas. Se llevaron a cinco de nuestros compañeros a San José; a los demás no los agarraron porque estaban adentro de Caritas, pero nos amenazó de que por haberlo denunciado, nos iba a traer entre ojos, así como a los de Matraca, ya que él se iba a encargar de cerrarlo".

A minor indicated that the same denounced police chief Nava, "said to us that he was going to spread the word that we are snitches and informants. They took five of our companions to San José; they did not take hold of the others because they were inside of Caritas, but he threatened that for having denounced him, he was going to to pay us back and watch us closely and not leave us in peace. The same for the MATRACA people, since he was going to order it closed".

Debido a estás nuevas agresiones, Hernández Lara responsabilizó de manera directa al titular de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, Jorge Moreno Salinas, "sobre cualquier tipo de agresión o intimidación que puedan enfrentar estos niños trabajadores y los educadores de Matraca, dado que los policías reciben ordenes de sus superiores".

Due to these new aggressions, Hernández Lara put the responsibility directly on the office-holder of the Secretariat of Public Security, Jorge Brown Saline, "for any type of aggression or intimidation which these working children and the educators of MATRACA face, since the police get their orders from their superiors."
